Anniversary on WordPress

A few weeks ago, it was my first anniversary of being on WordPress. It was a whole year of committing to blogging on a regular basis (once a week). When I originally decided to create a blog, I did not know if I could keep it up for a year. I was not sure if I would have enough ideas for a years’ worth of blog posts, but I decided to give it a try. I did not have blog goals, I had a general overall plan and niche for my blog. For the most part I planned to go with the flow which seems to still be working well.

Reading my earlier blog posts compared with my most recent ones, I notice a difference and growth within a year. I have seen my writing and voice grow as I wrote about different topics and read other people’s blog posts. Blogging became a fun hobby to go to when I needed a break from schoolwork. It was a way to make sure that I kept writing for me. Usually during the school years, I write less for me and more for assignments. By the time I’m done with assignments, I do not have the energy to write for myself. Blogging became a way to break this habit.  A simple commitment of posting a blog post once a week was not overwhelming and I actually look forwarded to writing and posting. It became a part of routine pretty quickly and I figured out what works for me. It was interesting to learn more about myself and share parts of myself with others. I am grateful to the WordPress community. I like the support and help that members give to each other, such as Novus Lectio’s work of maintaining the community pool now called Swimmers. Reading other people’s posts and about their lives is enjoyable and a great learning experience to see how differences and similarities in our lives.

Thank You WordPress, my followers, and everyone who read one of my blog posts!

  1. Congratulations! Such a lovely read. Keep up the good work! 😀

Personally, I’ve been so surprised by how much easier blogging has become since starting over a year ago. Even posting just once a week makes you look forward to writing quality posts about something you’re passionate about, and sharing that enthusiasm with readers who appreciate and look forward to your new content. Blogging’s been a huge help in expressing myself and finding different people all over the world with such diverse life experiences, but who all want to find a way to express themselves more and help each other out in the process.
Good luck with the year ahead! Keep writing! ❤

  2. Happy Anniversary! I began blogging on January 1 of this year. I think what I notice most about changes in my blogging is that I seem to have found my voice as the year has progressed. What I write seems more authentic to me, like I am having a true conversation with my readers. I have a list of topic ideas that is 3 pages long. I don’t think I will ever run out of topics to write about! 🙂

  3. Congratulations and Happy Blogiversary!! I’m really pleased to hear that you are still enjoying it, keep up the good work! I was terrified when I first started blogging, but the community was so welcoming and supportive (and still is), it’s one of the great things about blogging I think. I look forward to reading more of your content over the coming year 🙂

  4. Happy anniversary.. I started mine in April, when I was getting bored with my life and wanted to do something which Iove. But after a few weeks, work got hectic and my days were tightly packed. Get up, work, go to bed, this became my daily routine. Things are returning back to normal now, and I am slowly trying to be active here.
Happy anniversary and wishing you many more years of successful blogging..
