About

Hi friends and acquaintances, welcome to my blog! For those who do not know me, my name is Nia and I’m a graduate student studying clinical psychology. This blog was created because I don’t feel like the people in my personal life really know me, even those who are closest to me. Think about it, how well do you know me beyond the surface? Can you write a non-generic paragraph about me? Exactly and it’s not your fault. I kept most of me hidden from people on purpose. Anyway, the point of this blog is to show a different side of me and give people the chance to know me a little better. Are you going to get to read about my whole life story? No, but you will read about my self-growth and follow me through reflections. Some reflections will be about my personal life while others will be about things I observe in society and life.

I hope by reading my posts they cause you to reflect on yourself and life. At the end of each post I am going to try to incorporate a way for it to applicable to you. It will probably be a series of questions and/or a few statements that will challenge you to think, reflect, and process things related to your life. You can post your thoughts as comments under the posts (if you want an open discussion), email them to me directly (if you want a one-on-one), or keep them to yourself (but I suggest you at least write them down). Whatever you are comfortable with, as long as you are thinking and striving for growth.

If you follow me on snapchat, you know that I create and post phrases related to self-growth on Mondays-Fridays. My posts on this blog will elaborate on some of my snapchat posts. I am planning to post at least once a week and it will probably be on Friday or Saturday. My posts will mostly be short, unless I am on a roll.  If you have any questions and/or comments please feel free to contact me.
