The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, optimistic and inspiring, while spreading sunshine to the blogging community. Altogether, these awards are given to encourage and recognize bloggers (mostly new) in the blogosphere.
I was nominated for this award by two different people, so I decided to combine the post.
Heygirrl writes about her thoughts and lessons that has learned and still is learning. She has inspirational posts, book reviews, and more.
Sierra Leone Girl loves art in every form. She has Motivational Monday and reflective posts.
Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in the blog post and link back to their blog.

List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award Logo in your post and/or on your blog.
My answers to Heygirrl’s questions:
What’s your niche and what inspired you to pick that niche and dwell in it?
-It’s kind of hard to explain my niche. I wrote about it in The Intention of My Presence on Social Media
-I just naturally felt the need to go in that direction based on the type of person I am and the things that have been going on in my life and society.
What are the things you would get in your blogging wishlist if you had enough cash?
My own domain and some graphic designs for my blog.
What’s the best book you’ve read on personal finance?
I have not any books on personal finance. Videos are easier for me to understand and stay engaged
What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you since you started blogging?
The best thing is the form of community I am able to be a part of. Reading about other people’s stories and viewpoints has been eye opening and fun. I also love that I have another outlet for my writing.
What’s the best advice you’ve received on blogging?
I have not received any direct advice about blogging. The best indirect advice I heard that I related to blogging was just go ahead and do it how you want to do it.
Apart from blogging, do you have any other side hustle? Business or craft?
I have a few things that I dabble in but nothing that I am getting paid for.
What’s the best place in the world you would love to travel to and who would you go with?
Guyana with my mom and closest set of friends.
As a woman, do you believe in independence? Do you believe in being completely settled and financially stable before you get cuffed (married)?
-Yes, I believe in independence but not everyone is currently experiencing independence.
-For me and in an ideal world, I would like to be settled and financially stable before getting married. But I know some women feel differently for their personal reasons. Also, with the wage gaps (that differ based on gender, race, occupation, etc) it can be difficult for some women to be as financially stable as they would like to be before marriage. The concept of financially stability also differs among people, like what one person would consider stable another person won’t. So whatever works for you, works for you. My current plan is to be financially stable before marriage, cause money problems is one of the main causes of issues within marriage and I was raised to be independent, so I need to know that I will be able to support myself in the worst case scenario.
What’s the one thing one can always find in your purse?
Do you believe in making future plans or let the future just work itself out?
I believe in both. Making future plans give you a sense of direction but you can’t control everything (I have tried and failed). Somethings you will have to let it work out for itself and somehow it works out pretty good.
My answers to Sierra Leone Girl’s questions:
What have you always wanted to be growing up?
Money. The main issue and source of stress I remember growing up was not having enough money (and I don’t mean for luxury items).
If you could tell your teenage-self anything, what would that be?
That a big question because I got a lot to say to her. Like sooooo much happened in my teen years, I don’t even know where to start. One of the first things I would tell her is “I know it doesn’t make sense now, but you will figure it out and make sense of things. You have a habit of unconsciously knowing what is best for you, so just keep going in that direction and listen to your intuition. Your unconscious brain and body knows what’s up before your conscious mind even begins to process what’s going on.”
If you could meet anyone from any time period who would it be?
It is a tie between Tupac and Beyonce
Who would you say is your biggest influence?
What is your guilty pleasure?
What is your idea of a perfect rest day?
Sleeping in late and eating my favorite foods.
What is your favourite day of the week and why?
Saturday, it’s one of my days off from everything (work, classes, volunteer work) so I can fit in more self-care and go out to events.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
New York or Chicago
What is your favourite film or book growing up?
Film-Cheetah girls. I remember recording the movie on a VHS when it first premiered and watching it over and over again. Then when DVDs became a big thing, my mom got me the DVD. Yes, I still know all of the words to the songs. Oh wow, I feel so old talking about VHS.
Book- I remember reading a lot of the chicken noodle soup for the girl’s soul books.
If you could work on a project with anyone from any time period, who would it be and what kind of project?
Beyoncé and/or Tupac. The project would be something involving writing, like narrations, poetry, or intros for an upcoming album. I also want to do visuals.
What kinds of things bring you joy?
Food, I literally dance while I’m eating good food.
The color blue.
Being around fun people who I click with but also being myself when I need to be
I nominate any blogger who wants to do this any of these tags. I know it’s a lot of y’all, I can’t decide who to nominate and I don’t anyone to feel left out. So, this is open to anyone.
